Royal Mer once again opens its backstage to you.

For this second portrait of our teams, we went to meet Aimee, Production Director. Arrival in 2019 at Royal Mer, discover her interview in our newspaper.

Hello Aimee, can you introduce yourself and tell us what your background is?
I trained as a textile engineer, supplemented by a diploma from the French Fashion Institute in Fashion & Design Management. I started my career in Parisian offices then, after a few years, I wanted to get closer to manufacturing and the people who shape the products. I left for the provinces to set up the purchasing and supplies department in the factory of a luxury house then I joined the Royal Mer team in 2019.

What is your mission at Royal Mer?

I am a production manager.
My first role is to ensure deliveries of all our orders within the desired deadlines, while guaranteeing good quality. This involves planning and coordinating the stages of production (yarn supply, knitting, steaming, cutting, making, logistics), whether internally, according to the capacity of our factory, or externally with our sub-contractors. treaters. This is made possible by highly invested teams! I am also in charge of recruitment and the general organization of the production site (schedules and planning, personnel management, equipment, etc.).

Why Royal Mer?

For the pride of participating in maintaining rare French know-how.
And of course, for the quality and durability of the products we make.

For you, what are the 3 ingredients for a successful collection?

A combination of simple, well-cut pieces that are “essentials” in our wardrobes, a few strong pieces in particular knit stitches that reflect the creativity of the house, all in a wide palette of well-chosen colors.

What is your vision of fashion today?

It is now obvious that consumers are interested in the impact that their purchases can have and are looking for quality pieces that last a long time, while demanding transparency in the manufacturing of products. That’s good, these have always been Royal Mer’s values!

What are the challenges of your position, and of Royal Mer?

The main challenge is to respond to the increasingly strong demand for Made In France. We must therefore find solutions to develop internally, while building solid partnerships that will allow us to continue to deliver quality parts.
Another important issue, linked to the previous one, is that of replacing retirements in technical positions and the transmission of know-how.

Finally, faced with soaring raw material prices and factory operating costs, we must think of new ways of organizing ourselves.

Which Royal Mer model could define you?

I chose the CLARA model, a soft sweater, easy to wear, comfortable and very warm for a cold person like me!
