Could you share with us your experience and your professional journey within this company?
I graduated with a BTS in Fashion Design and Environment and continued with a specialization in Lingerie and Corsetry. I worked for 5 years in the meticulous world of high-end wedding dresses. First as a sales retoucher then as store and collection purchasing manager. Then I started my business and created a brand of ready-to-wear children's clothing Made in France. This incredible and enriching adventure lasted 8 years, then different factors and a pandemic got the better of my small business. Then in 2021 my Royal Mer adventure began. A great encounter with a brand that represents the values that I myself have always held. A quality product, noble materials and the preservation of rich French know-how that has almost disappeared.
What is your job title and what work do you do on a daily basis at Royal Mer?
I am responsible for the Royal Mer Factory Store. My main mission is to organize the smooth running of the store on a daily basis and to manage the various commercial operations of the year so that they run successfully.
For you, what is the place of women in the professional environment in general?
This is a big question that would require a long answer. I think we live in a professional world that was built by men and for men. Great strides have been made but there are too few structures that really put in place conditions offering women the opportunities to truly flourish. The problem for me today therefore does not lie so much in the difficulty of accessing positions (with responsibility or not) but rather in holding these positions governed by rules and codes which lack meaning in the world of work. of today.
How do you manage the demands of your job while balancing your family responsibilities?
I don't know if I can really do it... I'm doing the best I can! The ideal for me is obviously to compartmentalize and separate professional and personal. I invest myself in my work but to a reasonable extent so that it does not encroach too much on my private life. The difficulty is really there; make allowances and accept that we cannot be perfect in every way and every day. Also prioritize and choose the battles you want to fight, whether professional or personal. Accept that you don't have the energy and strength to do everything. That's the theory, in reality I have trouble following my own rules.
